At 83, Louise Forestier looks time straight in the eye. Directed by Martin Villeneuve, Vieille Corneille is a musical docufiction, a "docu-sical," that weaves an intimate portrait of an artist who is committed, free and deeply alive.

Structured in nine chapters, like the nine songs on her latest album, the film unfolds as an ode to nature and the passing of time. Driven by the music of Louis Dufort and the lyrics of Louise Forestier, it moves through the seasons, from Quebec to Tasmania, among sea, wind, dunes and ancient forests. The landscapes become mirrors of the soul, spaces of memory and rebirth.

Through interviews and visual tableaux, Louise revisits her career, with its bursts of energy, its struggles and its daring, while addressing aging, legacy and mortality with clear-eyed lucidity. Far from being a farewell, the film celebrates creation as an act of resistance, a light amid the erosion of the world.

Shot over four seasons, Vieille Corneille captures the movement of the tides, the course of the sun and the fragility of things. This moving docu-sical lets Louise Forestier's legacy resonate through a luminous, vibrant voice, that of a woman who, to the very end, chooses to sing.
