In the late 1990s, eight-year-old Sasha and her Hungarian immigrant family relocate to a new home on Vancouver Island. Their fresh start is interrupted by increasingly dangerous behaviour from the eldest son Jeremy, whose anti-social tendencies manifest in increasingly dangerous ways. At wit's end, the parents enlist the help of social services and are presented with a shattering solution: turning Jeremy over to professional care. Award-winning director Sophy Romvari's semi-autobiographical feature debut is a lyrical meditation on the power of memory and a profound testament to the legacy of grief, masterfully chronicling the intense personal journey of facing and reconciling the past.
