This programme offers a vibrant journey to the heart of Algerian culture, through music and popular cinema. In 20 minutes, Paloma Colombe's Planète Malek traces the musical career of Ahmed Malek, the emblematic conductor of Algerian radio and television and the author of legendary compositions for cult films such as Les vacances de l'inspecteur Tahar and Omar Gatlato. Echoing this, Merzak Allouache's Omar Gatlato (1976) paints a sensitive portrait of Algerian youth in search of meaning, between dreams of the future, boredom and social constraints, offering both an intimate and critical look at the society of the time.
