Eventhough this document contains some melancholic aspects, it is nevertheless very positive in its presentation of people who, through some very simple activities, manage to maintain a creativity necessary for their survival in a land that for many will always be a foreign one.
In this context the making of wine or the planting of a garden transcends its utilitarian purpose to become in itself an act of poetry, a poetry not confined to an academic or official definition, but something alive and present in the daily effort for the spiritual survival, not only of the immigrant but everyone else.
The poems in the film are by Vincenzo Albanese and the film is in its whole a « naive » poem. A series of scenes that want to portray in a more intimate way the condition of the immigrant. (Festival du nouveau cinéma, 1978)
